Job Description:
They are seeking the services of a Group Manager for Power to work in United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).
Requirements:
– To provide sustained profitable operation of the Power business in the UAE through safe and efficient management of all aspects of the business
– To serve clients with superior quality engineering services;
– To implement the Business Plan and sector strategy and build and develop the Power business
– To interact effectively with the Location Manager, Abu Dhabi and members of the Leadership Team and other internal parties
Running the Business Unit
– Day–to–day running of the Business Unit to achieve targeted results, including P&L responsibility.
– Ongoing leadership, management, team–building, mentoring, coaching of the staff.
– Developing and implementing Business Development plans and budgets.
– Providing timely and suitably comprehensive performance reports.
– Keeping abreast of local industrial/commercial/community business activities, plans and future developments.
– Fostering and managing effective relationships with existing and prospective clients.
– Approving tenders for local projects.
– Ensure the availability of the capability platform (human, technical and systems) to meet local client and project demands.
– Oversight of the delivery of projects in accordance with sound Project Management principles.
– Developing overall business scope, budgets and schedules for the Business Unit.
– Development and implementation of Business Unit initiatives to improve cost effectiveness.
– Planning for quality outcomes in all activities of the business.
– Relationship with Regional Director Power Middle East
– Liaising with, and assisting the Regional Director Power Middle East in the development of industry–specific strategic plans for the Business Unit
– Carry out the practical implementation of industry–specific strategic plans in the Business Unit.
– Assisting the Regional Director Power Middle East in industry competitor analyses and business development activities in the local context
– Providing timely and suitably comprehensive reports on industry–specific matters to senior management
HR Management
– Ongoing leadership, management, team–building, mentoring, coaching and training of the people employed in the Business Unit
– Recruitment of staff and contract employees
– Conduct of periodic Staff Performance and Development Appraisals and salary reviews
– Ensuring compliance with company HR Policies and Procedures
Health and Safety
– Ensuring the local implementation of the company Health & Safety Policy.
Environment
– Ensuring the local implementation of the company Environmental Policy.
Quality Assurance
– Responsible for implementation of the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system, which are relevant to the Power Business Unit.
Essential Skills/Experience
– Excellent leadership and communication skills.
– A proven track record in managing Power projects with a minimum of 10 years experience as a Project Manager , preferably in the region.
– Demonstrable commitment to HSE management
– A high level of business development and customer focus
– Working knowledge of industry standard business support systems i.e. project planning packages, cost management systems, ISO9001 quality management systems
– Relevant engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years industry experience. Sound understanding of applicable local & international engineering standards and codes of practice
