- The primary purpose of the position is to lead a team of carpentry section and maintain harmonious working relationships.
- Interpret instructions and related information into meaningful work.
- Check and sign work orders and review equipment maintenance history.
- Plan & schedule labour, material and equipment efficiently and within set time frames.
- Maintain effective lines of communication between the implementation and execution functions.
- Maintain and enforce a safe working environment.
- Supervise and coordinate training activities
- Take care of the client satisfaction

Essential functions of the job include:
- Supervise and participate in the planning, laying out, construction, repair and assembly of temporary and permanent buildings, additions, partitions and wood structures and fixtures .
- Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities .
- Estimate time, cost, type of lumber, and supplies required for projects.
- Direct any rework or modification.
- Conduct periodic inspections of LTC buildings and facilities to determine repair needs; establish and coordinate programs of preventive maintenance.
- Ensure that all equipments are safely released to the technicians.
- Implement carpenters’ training and testing program to ensure skill sets are updated.
- Coordinate and direct outside contractors and vendors as required.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
