The successful candidate will have either a mechanical or electrical engineering background focused on data centres and will have an extensive track record working on the design, consulting or commissioning of data centre power or cooling systems. The candidate must possess a track record of delivering major data centre projects and will have a strong technical background in power or cooling systems.
The individual should have strong presentation and inter-personal skills and be capable of working independently and of managing teams.
The role will require extensive travel throughout the MEMA region. Much of the role will involve meeting clients, presenting HP’s CFS capabilities and demonstrating a detailed knowledge of contemporary knowledge of critical facilities, such as (for the mechanical engineer) various free cooling technologies and high density cooling or (for the electrical engineer) UPS systems, standby generators and power system topologies.
As an already highly accomplished design and consulting engineer the candidate will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge/history of involvement in the following.
Managing all aspects of mechanical or electrical design projects including normal and emergency power/cooling distribution systems, sizing electrical rooms and lighting control systems.
Engineer large projects, prepare reports and specification and provide a very high level of technical leadership.
Perform calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation and construction administration.
Effectively and personably be able to organise others supporting your efforts
Directly supervise and control activities on multiple projects at one time
Maintain client satisfaction
Perform all work with minimal supervision and coordinate with a quality assurance/quality control supervisory team
Consulting responsibilities include preparation of due diligence, gap analysis and feasibility reports
Apply skills to lead efforts in production of drawings consistent with client requirements and standards
Possess detailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers for his/her trade and able to make proper elections independently
