Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing key areas of Credit control and Accounting departments, with the primary responsibiltyof managing the sales ledger.Gaining significant exposure to various areas of the business and being encouraged to play an active part in developing the various departments, whilst having major input intostrategic futureplanning, this role encompasses the end to end process of credit management, with afocus on maintaining the timely collection of accounts, whilst ensuring that credit exposure and limits are in place.Management of the following areas:
Credit Control Account Opening and Setup Query resolution and AdministrationKey functions:
Cash Collection Ensuring the collection of sales ledger invoices are carried out effectively, whilst ensuring amounts are collected to meet DSO targetsCredit Insurance Verifying that accounts are covered by credit insurance, whilst highlighting those which are not via weekly/monthly reporting and actingand advising uponsolutionsCredit Limits Making sure accounts are covered by a credit rating to minimise any potentialbad debt issuesReporting Maintaining company reports on uninsured/underinsured customers, major offending customers and escalating to senior managementLegal Accounts Responsible for escalation of accounts to a legal stage and those issues arisingCommunication Ensuringthatfinance issues related to slow or delayed payments are communicated to senior management and sales areasLeadership and MotivationMonitoring team performance, addressing areas of weakness, teambuilding and motivation to achieve both individual and collective targetsand addressing any problems by coming up with proactive solutions and ideasRelationshipsAttend CRM or National Sales meetings as and when applicable/required gaining further exposure to senior managementCross Area CoverControl areas of the department to ensure appropriate cover in case of sickness/annual leaveTrainingProvide appropriate training and education to teamwherenecessary
