In this role, you’ll be responsible for negotiating and executing profitable spot and longer-term trades involving refined petroleum products. In the process, you’ll be expected to:

* Gather valuable market and competitor intelligence and disseminate this within Shell
* Forge intimate customer relationships. This is likely to involve travel, mostly within the Middle East and Indian subcontinent
* Develop a clear understanding ofï¾ the region’s refineries capabilities and requirements
* Identify opportunities to leverage the Group’s manufacturing, exploration or supply & distribution portfolios
* Formulate trading strategies based on our forward supply and demand analysis
* Devise new value propositions for internal and external customers, and then sell and implement them
* Work with chartering colleagues to extract maximum oil and freight synergy value from every deal
* Work with associated shipping, operations and contact groups to secure the most cost effective trading services and back office support
* Work with risk management groups to hedge or otherwise manage the exposures arising from trading positions
* Constantly seek ways to improve and optimise existing trade flows
* Check and update trading systems daily and ensure it is correctly reflecting the mark to market and exposure by each close of business.
