1) Conducts market visits and trade shows to increase his market network and
awareness
2) Develops and continuously maintains a supplier/subcontractor performance
evaluation
3) system that incorporates input from Procurement, Construction, Cost Control, and
Accounts
4) Develops, maintains and updates the technical library with the relevant
supplier/subcontractor
5) brochures and catalogs
6) Responsible for the material procurement database
7) Advises Business Development and Estimation on updated material costs
OPERATIONAL
1) Studies contract documents to become thoroughly acquainted with exact
requirements and specifications.
2) Generates the required material and subcontractor logs to meet the Procurement
plan approved by Procurement Manager
3) Manages the process of Construction, Planning and Cost Control in developing the
Job Budget and schedules
4) Collects responses to Request For Quotation (RFQ) and quotations
5) Reviews supplier and subcontractor proposals in coordination with Construction to
ensure scope of work and commercial requirements are is in line with job scope and
requirements
6) Prepares comparison sheets for the review of the Procurement Manager
7) Attends site meetings as needed to coordinate procurement requirements
Responsible for the preparation of material submittals and subcontractor prequalifications
and shop drawings to consultants
9) Assists Construction with obtaining client/consultant approvals on
material/subcontractors, when needed.
10) Responsible for providing material samples to site for client/consultant approval
11) Ensures all required operational and maintenance manuals, spare parts lists, and
guarantees are delivered to QA/QC during job hand over
12) Assists Procurement Manager in negotiating supplier/subcontractor prices, delivery
terms, contracts and payment terms and conditions
13) Issues Letters of Intent (LOI) and Subcontract Agreements to be signed by
management
14) Corresponds with sub-contractors, suppliers, Project Managers, Construction
Managers,
15) Project Engineers, and Site Engineers to clarify sub-contractor and supplier queries.
16) Responsible for the overall maintenance and updating of the Amana Procurement
Module and Product Catalog
17) Contributes to the Procurement section of the End of Job Report highlighting
performances of subcontractors and suppliers, unusual material specifications, long
lead items, and difficult suppliers
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
1) Assists in the training and development of personnel in the Procurement and
Contracts function
