Job Purpose:
Participate in fabrication work planning and direct activities of Fabrication/Welding teams in the workshop as well as field. Ability to read piping and structural drawings.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Obtain work permits, review work assigned and arrange for necessary materials, tools and equipment to complete the assigned tasks.
2. Allocate work to assigned Fabricators/Welders/Riggers. Participate in fabrication and installation work as necessary. Inspect and test completed work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with the drawing, standards and work permit requirements.
3. Issue comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the nature of the work and the materials, labour and time taken to complete tasks.
4. Ensure all tools and test equipment are kept and serviceable and advise Barge Engineer of spare parts and material requirements.
5. Ensure that all activities are conducted within company standards, procedures, standing instructions and good oil industry practice.
